Organic, Texas grown and farm made jelly
We are so excited to offer some one of a kind Texas Jellies!
Each one was made from things either grown in our garden, like the peppers and strawberries, or foraged on our property, the grapes, prickly pears and beauty berries!
Jellies:
Mustang Grape: a wild local grape that we have been watching grow all over the farm, this year we didn't let the birds beat us to the fruit!
It has a very plesant mild grape flavor, not as strong as the traditional concord grape jelly you're used to.
Strawberry, Grape Habanero: For this one we had a little of this and a little of that and I decided to play mad scientist in the kitchen, and boy did it pay off! This jelly has a complex flavor with *just* the right amount of heat! Perfect for cheese boards, biscuits or pouring over a block of cream cheese for a new flavorful dip!
Prickly Pear: I know technically the fruit of Texas is a grapefruit, but in my mind it'll always be the Prickly pear. These beautiful little "tunas" as we call them are a welcome sign that summer is coming to an end. Or at least we hope ;) They normally start turning their deep maroon color in August and continue into September. Again, I had to be on my game and not let the deer and wildlife beat me to all the goodies! Their taste is sweet and bright with a green freshness. It would be the perfect addition to a margarita, thumbprint cookies or your morning toast.
Beauty Berry: I'm sure you've seen these stunning purple berries in clusters during late summer. You've probably been told not to eat them pecause they were poisonous, while they won't taste that great, trust me they are not going to hurt you! They will be bitter and astringent, I recommend making jelly instead of eating them raw!
The jelly can be used on pancakes, with just a touch of cinnamon is it DEVINE! You will never look at pancakes the same way again! The best way to describe the flavor would be similar to grape, with a touch of red fruit and a little tart like cranberry.
We have limited amounts of Jelly available, but would love to share some of our Texas with you and your family! They also make great little gifts for the holiday season.
